French A2 texts
- French A2 Reading Practice: A Weekend in Paris — At A2 you start telling stories about what happened. This text moves through a whole weekend in the passé composé, with a few imparfait descriptions.
- French A2 Reading Practice: A Day at Work — Work vocabulary plus the past tense: this is the A2 combination that lets you tell a colleague what your day was like.
- French A2 Reading Practice: At the Doctor — Explaining what hurts is one of the first things you truly need abroad. This A2 text puts health vocabulary into a short, realistic conversation.
- French A2 Reading Practice: Moving to a New Flat — Moving house brings together housing vocabulary, the past tense and a lot of complaining. All three are useful at A2.
A2 French reading means short narratives, past tenses, connectors and situational vocabulary. A text that only shortens sentences is not really A2; it is a harder text in disguise, and it teaches you to skim instead of to read.
Each of these texts says underneath why it belongs at A2 and lists the grammar it contains, so you can tell whether you are reading at the right level or should move up or down.
Read one text a day rather than four at once. Recognition comes from meeting the same words again in a new sentence, not from finishing a page.
Want texts that adapt to your own vocabulary?
PlusOneLanguage remembers the words you know and introduces new ones gradually, so every text is just slightly harder than the last one.
