À la caisse, il y a beaucoup de monde. Sophie attend cinq minutes. Le total est trente-quatre euros. Elle paie avec sa carte.
Dehors, il pleut. Sophie met les sacs dans la voiture et elle rentre chez elle.
English translation
On Saturdays, Sophie does the shopping. She takes a trolley and a list.
She buys milk, eggs and a kilo of apples. She looks for the rice, but she cannot find it. An employee points to the aisle: "It's over there, on the left."
At the checkout, there are a lot of people. Sophie waits five minutes. The total is thirty-four euros. She pays with her card.
Outside, it is raining. Sophie puts the bags in the car and goes home.

The vocabulary is concrete and visible: food, money, places in a shop. Grammar stays at A1 level with present-tense verbs, simple negation and quantity words, and no sentence contains more than one clause plus a short addition.
