Ma famille
Je m'appelle Lucas. J'ai vingt-cinq ans et j'habite à Lyon. Ma famille n'est pas grande.
Mon père s'appelle Henri. Il est professeur. Ma mère s'appelle Claire. Elle travaille dans un hôpital. J'ai une sœur. Elle a dix-huit ans et elle étudie l'anglais.
Nous avons aussi un chien. Il s'appelle Tino. Il est vieux mais très gentil.
Le dimanche, nous mangeons ensemble chez mes parents. Ma mère fait une tarte. Mon père parle beaucoup. J'aime ces dimanches.
English translation
My name is Lucas. I am twenty-five years old and I live in Lyon. My family is not big.
My father is called Henri. He is a teacher. My mother is called Claire. She works in a hospital. I have a sister. She is eighteen and she studies English.
We also have a dog. He is called Tino. He is old but very kind.
On Sundays, we eat together at my parents' place. My mother makes a tart. My father talks a lot. I love these Sundays.
Why this is A1
The text stays in the present tense and uses the two verbs every A1 learner needs first, être and avoir, alongside possessive words like mon, ma and mes. Sentences are short and each one adds one new piece of information.
